In 1988, Al Gore and NASA's James Hansen, with the help of democratic senator Tim Wirth, set the stage for the global warming scare/fraud. They chose the hottest day of the year (per the Weather Bureau) and rigged the A/C so it would be overwhelmed. That made the claimed "cause-and-effect relationship to the greenhouse effect" much more effective to the assembled politicians.
