I do find it hard to believe that he would be so stupid as to actually wiretap the place. Then again, I'm not in show business.
But there is absolutely no allegation in the criminal complaint that “wiretapping” or “bugging” is any part of this case, just the charge that O’Keefe and the others entered Sen. Landrieu’s office in New Orleans “for the purpose of interfering with the office’s telephone system.”
On a tip from Nesho, it's being reported that O'Keefe was trying to show that the Senator's office had rigged their phones to give a busy signal even when they were not handling calls. Now that makes sense to me.
