Things I learned about Muslims and Islam yesterday:
In West and Central Africa, the children of the poor are commodities, often traded like cows or donkeys by adults who value their labor. Hundreds of thousands are put to work every year, some as young as 2, by Islamic schools that use the false promise of a free education to lure children into a life of begging.
Some Europeans have a real problem with the pedophilia of Islam.
Polls show that 80% of Arabs have a negative opinion of the US. Well...Right back at ya slick
Louis Farrakhan and The Nation of Islam are reaching out to Latinos by taking part in Latino related functions. Recently, minister Rasul Muhammad, purveyor of racist hate, was invited to speak at El Concilio's Latino Leadership Conference at Cesar Chavez High School. I'm of the mind that when Americans allow for a high school to be named after Cesar Chavez, they shouldn't be surprised with such nonsense.
I also learned that in London, a non-muslim father and son were banned from a public swimming pool because they were not Muslim.
And finally, I learned that a new think-tank of "moderate Muslims" designed to counter Islamic extremism says it has been the target of a hate campaign to strangle the initiative at birth. Websites set up by opponents have carried photographs of its director engaged in what they deem to be 'un-Islamic' behaviour.
I'm always learning new things.
