This from WND:
Van Jones, an environmental activist, has been tapped to serve as the special adviser for green jobs, enterprise and innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality.Holy friggin' hell! This man is appointed to an advisory position! Paid for by my tax money! How far have we fallen when the HDS is not issuing circulars to law enforcement officials asking they be aware of such dangerous people (as Jones) who may attempt to subvert our government? Can you imagine what would have happened if Bush had appointed a self-described "rowdy white nationalist" to any position? Can you just imagine? The man flat out admits that he has used environmental activism to fight for larger, wholly unrelated social issues. Global warming bogeyman anyone? ANYONE?
Jones, formerly a self-described "rowdy black nationalist," is also co-founder and president of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, named after a little-known civil rights firebrand.
A bio of Baker on the center's website focuses on her contributions to racial equality – her involvement with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP; an organization she founded to fight Jim Crow laws; and her work with Martin Luther King's group, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference.
Not mentioned, however, is that Baker was an avowed socialist who worked closely with communist activists. She also participated in events that were close to the radical Weathermen group.
WND reported earlier this week that Jones, Obama's new environmental adviser, recently was as an admitted radical communist and black nationalist leader.
He boasted in a 2005 interview that his environmental activism was a means to fight for racial and class "justice."
Jones was a founder and leader of the communist revolutionary organization Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM. STORM worked with known communist leaders. The leftist blog Machete 48 (link:) identifies STORM's influences as "third-worldist Marxism (and an often vulgar Maoism)."
Speaking to the East Bay Express, Jones said he first became radicalized in the wake of the 1992 Rodney King riots, during which time he was arrested.
"I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist."
Here's a picture of Van Jones "interacting" with San Francisco police during his more active communist days.
I visited Van's personal website. As you can see, he's pretty damn full of himself. There's even a quote from Al Gore describing just how good Van is for America. Says Al:
"Van Jones demonstrates conclusively that the best solutions for the survivability of our planet are also the best solutions for the survivability for everyday Americans"Van has an "About" page. on his website. Oddly, it does not mention anything "about" his radical communist past. Not a single word.
UPDATE: It appears that as part of a tactic that has become typical of the Obama administration, Van has scrubbed his website in an attempt to conceal his ideological identity. So the above links do not lead to where they once lead. Most transparent administration ever!
Here's a recent comment of Van Jones:
“We imagine formerly incarcerated people moving from jail cells to solar cells—helping to harvest the sun, heal the land, and repair our souls.”That's your green czar. A real American hero huh?
