In the course of my day to day work I read a lot of technical documents, specifications, and other mindlessly boring pieces of paper whether in digital or hard copy and frequently I see the following:




I'm no rocket scientist, but I think I am being lied to here.  First, the page is NOT blank and secondly, if you don't have anything more to say then why print a page declaring just that?  Why not move on to the next subject matter instead of inserting a supposedly blank page that is indeed not blank?

Considering that our government prints millions and maybe even billions of pages of documents each year, couldn't we save a considerable amount of money by not printing these supposedly blank pages?  A typical box of 20 pound copy paper costs about .007 cents per sheet.  Multiply that by a billion or two and you've saved a few dollars.

This is a pet peeve of mine, much like putting a gallon of milk at the grocery store into a plastic shopping bag which has a tensile strength of wet doo doo and through which I am going to grab the convenient and computer designed milk jug handle anyway.

What can I say, it's Monday.  Ain't much going on.
